Charcoal Study: Light and Shadow

I really enjoyed creating this charcoal study of geometric plaster casts of an eye, a mouth and a nose! My focus was on capturing light, shadow, and form using different shading techniques to bring depth and contrast. Charcoal is such a great medium for bold shadows and soft transitions, making the shapes feel three-dimensional. The dramatic lighting adds a classical touch, which I love.

What do you think? Do you enjoy working with charcoal, or do you prefer other mediums? Let me know!
